FISHOUFLAGE ANGLERS BODINGER BROTHERS FINISH STRONG TO WIN CABELA’S MWC EASTERN DIVISION SEASON OPENER ON DETROIT RIVER/LAKE ERIE—PRESENTED BY MOTORGUIDE
April 18, 2010 Trenton, MI—A strong finish lifted Cabela’s
Masters Walleye Circuit veterans Steve and Dan Bodinger to victory in a big-basket
shootout featuring more than 200 of the world’s finest walleye anglers.
Both of Chilton, Wisconsin, the Bodinger brothers brought a10-fish MWC limit weighing
72.59 pounds to the scale during the two-day event, good for $17,400 in cash and prizes.
Their total included the $15,700 payout, $1,000 in Cabela’s gift cards courtesy of the
circuit’s Cabela’s Angler Cash and Berkley Premier Team awards programs, a $500
Lowrance HDS bonus, and $200 Oxygenator U2 bonus.
It was the hard-fishing brothers’ first MWC win in a stellar 16-year circuit career. “It
means the world to me,” said Dan. Ever humble, the Bodingers were quick to credit
fellow anglers Kevin Dahl, Steve Stack, Wayne Butz, Don Frederick, Tony Kobriger and
Dan Zwick for helping put together the winning program.
Like many teams, the Bodingers pulled spinner rigs in the Michigan waters of Lake Erie.
Their go-to weapons were size 5 and 6 Colorado blades on Mr. Walleye Crawler Haulers
from Northland Fishing Tackle, in perch-imitating patterns. “We ran our rigs 1 to 1.2
mph at 9 to 10 feet in 16 to 18 feet of water in Brest Bay,” said Steve. “Finding dingy—
not dirty—water was key.”
The tournament was marked by big fish and heavy baskets, as 20 teams topped the 60-
pound mark and 60 teams broke the 50-pound barrier. The incredible action was a
testament to system’s world-class fisheries, and explained why the MWC has visited
Trenton five times in the past seven years. Making the fish fest even more remarkable
was the fact that MWC teams faced a 40-degree downward daytime temperature swing
the day before the tournament.
Lowrance’s Capt. Ron Hunter, on hand to provide anglers electronics support, noted that
some savvy MWC trollers were using Lowrance’s new HDS units with advanced GPS
and StructureScan not only to plot successful trolling runs, but to mark and intercept
roaming schools of Erie ‘eyes.’ “They’re marking the fish off the side of the boat,
determining where the fish are headed, and looping around to put their baits in front of
them,” he explained.
The Cabela’s Masters Walleye Circuit is the longest running professional walleye
tournament circuit in the United States and now in the 26th year of operations. For more

Fishouflage History:
For as long as there have been fish stories, anglers have adorned themselves with a variety of fishing attire, with no two the same. From lucky hats, to lucky hats with lucky hooks, and favorite pants or shorts; every angler in the country has their own signature look. The common thread that has always tied them all together is their passion for time on the water. That same time on the water spurred a conversation between fishermen one fall day, and ultimately sparked an idea.
The idea grew into a collection of likeminded sportsmen who shared a vision, and Outdoor Identities was born. That vision took on many forms throughout development, from sketches on the back of napkins to late night phone calls; Outdoor Identities and Fishouflage took on a life of their own. It was being driven by passion, the same passion that drives anglers everywhere to rise before dawn, to go the extra mile for a good bite, or put in that extra prep time to succeed on the water. That same passion is what ties all fishermen together, and our common thread finally has its own color, and it's CAMO! With the passion for fishing stronger than ever, anglers can finally unite and Make a Passion Statement for the love of their sport with a camo all their own.
A new set of patterns have emerged, in what will ultimately become a part of all fishermen's uniforms. Fishouflage, the first 3D camouflage pattern pulled from your local lake, combines the high tech elements of today's most popular camo patterns, while using habitat from your favorite environment, an aquatic one. It isn't really about hiding anything at all; it is more about showing your true colors. The inspiration for these patterns is obvious, and the first four hitting the market will highlight some of America's favorite fish, with plans for additions. For starters, anglers can choose from Bassouflage, Walleyeflage, Muskyflage, and Crappieflage, each pattern as unique as the fish and anglers that pursue them. Whether on the water, or out on the town, anglers can finally wear their passion on their sleeve.
Morgenthaler Signs With El Grande Lures
February 2, 2010
Coulterville, IL – Today El Grande Lures of Linton, Indiana announced that Chad Morgenthaler, an FLW Tour pro from Coulterville, Illinois, has joined the company’s pro-staff.
The timing couldn’t be better. With FLW Tour season about to commence on Louisiana’s Red River, Morgenthaler is on the hunt for monster bass. Fortunately, El Grande’s products should give him the edge he needs. The company’s lures are most frequently used on the big bass factories of Texas and Louisiana, but they’ll work anywhere that trophy bass swim.
“I’m really excited about the opportunity to work with a great soft plastics company like El Grande Lures,” Morgenthaler said. “I hope to play an instrumental part in helping to brand and market their products as they broaden and expand their business plan. It is always an honor to be included in the design process while a company ‘tweaks’ their products to maximize their effectiveness.”
El Grande’s owner, Jay Schurz, said the following: “We are excited about this partnership as Chad will be instrumental in working directly with me in product design. Chad fully understands our niche in the market, which is creating big soft plastics with industry leading color schemes. We look forward to many years of working with Chad and hope to be an integral part of helping Chad achieve his goals."
El Grande Lures currently has three products in its lineup:
• The Gila Monster, an 8 ¾ inch lizard that can be Carolina rigged or Texas rigged;
• The El Grande Tube, a flipping tube meant to handle the toughest cover and fish around; and
• El Grande Sapo, a soft plastic toad that churns the water like a buzzbait.
All three lures are available in standard colors as well as some patterns unique to El Grande.

Greg Hackney to move to Phoenix Boats
Phoenix Boats President Gary Clouse announced today that Elite Series Pro Greg Hackney has made the move to Phoenix Boats. “Greg is obviously one of the biggest names in the industry and will be a great asset in our marketing efforts”, states Clouse. Greg will be fishing in the 2010 Bassmaster Classic in Birmingham in a Phoenix 721 Pro XP as well as the 2010 Bassmaster Elite Series.
“After a visit to the Phoenix factory and seeing how these boats are built and meeting the management team, I knew this was the place for me to be,” stated Hackney. “ It is well known that the Bassmaster Elite Series puts a boat to the ultimate test, and with the materials and workmanship that goes into a Phoenix and hearing about the companies plans for the future, the decision was easy, “ he adds.
“Greg is the type person that we are very comfortable partnering with,” says Clouse. “First of all, he is a threat to win anywhere he goes. Equally important is the type person he is.
